Rebuilding a trim component from scan data into structured, editable CAD.
The customer needed a master CAD model of a Nissan S13 driver-side B-pillar trim component, with future development for moulds, jigs and revised versions in mind.
CJM received the scan data and rebuilt the component in Siemens NX, using the captured geometry as the reference.

The full trim was remodelled from the scan, recreating its curved outer form, rear geometry and mounting details. The native NX file retained the feature history used to build the model.
Following customer review, selected rounded edges present in the scan were changed to sharp edges. These revisions intentionally differed from the original scanned geometry.

An NX deviation colour map was used to compare the rebuilt model against the supplied scan. The comparison shown below was run after the customer-requested edge changes.
The map records differences between those two sets of geometry, including the intentionally revised areas. It is presented as a comparison check; no overall numerical accuracy or tolerance-pass claim is made.

CJM delivered the native NX model, STEP and Parasolid files, including the requested sharp-edge revisions.
The NX file retains the editable feature history. STEP and Parasolid provide the exported solid geometry; they do not transfer the NX feature history into Fusion. The customer confirmed that the files opened in Fusion.
